HEBRIDEAN WHALE AND
DOLPHIN TRUST

Travelling Whale donates 1% of profits to the amazing Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) in the collective quest to protect the planet.

Great whales naturally capture carbon and if we can increase the population of whales this can have a significant impact on climate change.

HEBRIDEAN WHALE AND DOLPHIN TRUSTS WORK

"The waters of western Scotland – known as the Hebrides - support an abundance of life; a vital global hotspot for harbour porpoises and home to internationally protected species, including minke whales, bottlenose dolphins, and killer whales. But Scotland’s whales and dolphins exist in a fragile state, threatened by a range of environmental and climatic changes, as well as human influences and pressures.

The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) has been leading the way for the conservation of whales and dolphins off western Scotland for 25 years. Our vision is of healthy Hebridean seas for whales, dolphins, porpoises and people. We are a marine conservation charity that takes action through robust science, inspirational education and meaningful engagement. We conduct the research that safeguards whales, dolphins and porpoises in the Hebrides. We believe in citizen science, involving people in everything we do. Through our projects people experience conservation work in action and explore the environment we are striving to protect first-hand. Our approach ignites strong connections between people and nature and drives the conservation of Hebridean cetaceans and marine life. At a time of global climate emergency and biodiversity loss across the UK and globally, HWDT’s mission has never been more critical."
