We specialise in sustainable bespoke adventures, small group tours and UK staycations. We’re a tour operator and travel agent so can book all aspects of your trip.

How is Travelling Whale different from other companies?
We create personalised adventures so that you can have the best time away from home while travelling more sustainably along the way. As for our name, you’ll also be supporting Great Whales and in turn helping the fight against climate change.

Are all the holidays 100 % sustainable?
Our philosophy is that small ripples make big waves so we will help you make steps in becoming a more sustainable travel no matter how small or large those steps are. We’re here to help you to travel to the right location, stay in the right accommodation and give back to local communities.

How is money protected?
All holidays that are booked are financially protected through Protected Trust Services.

Can Travelling Whale’s itineraries be adapted?
Yes, most of our holidays can be made bespoke to cover your needs.

How long does it take to sort out an adventure?
Generally, you’ll have your initial itinerary within a few days. This is our process:
We’ll set up a call to get to know you and your requirements for your trip.
We’ll curate a bespoke itinerary giving an overview of what’s included, this can be amended until you are happy.
Once you’re happy with the final itinerary, we will take a deposit and start booking everything in.

Are Travelling Whale’s holiday child-friendly?
Our tailor-made services are perfect for those families looking to travel with children. Let us know at the time of enquiry so we can cover specific requirements.

When do you take the deposit and full payment?
Every booking is different but we usually ask for a small deposit upfront and then full payment 90 days before arrival.

How do I pay Travelling Whale?
You can pay over the phone or via a safe secure link.

What are the benefits of booking through a travel agency?
You’ll save time and often money. You have more flexibility to change dates and have full financial protection in case anything should happen.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, you need to purchase comprehensive travel insurance for all our trips.

We can offer advice on how to obtain a visa.

Do I need vaccinations for my trip?
We recommend contacting your local GP/Doctor for up to date information. It’s your responsibility to ensure you’re covered for all possible vaccinations or medications needed for your trip. You can find out full details at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/travel-vaccinations/. Please be aware that vaccinations are sometimes needed well in advance of a trip.

Can I adapt the route you’re suggesting to skip or add a place?
Our tailor-made trips are adaptable because they are all bespoke but for small group tours, the routes can’t be tailored as there are specific routes and dates.

What happens after I book?
Once you’re happy with the itinerary and paid the booking deposit, we will confirm with our local suppliers that everything is confirmed. Once you’re closer to your departure date and have made the final payment, we’ll send over your final documents around 30 before you leave.

Who looks after us once we’re travelling?
We will give you contact details for our in-country representative, who will be able to help you during your trip. We are of course also available for non-urgent enquiries in the office during office hours.
