MONGOLIA HOLIDAY
Kate's ONCE IN A LIFETIME Mongolia HOLIDAY -
hear what it's like to live with Mongolian nomads
What is your favourite country and why?
Mongolia because the plains were incredible and the culture was so different.
What was the main highlight of the Mongolia Holiday?
I stayed with a nomad family. It was an insane experience where I really immersed myself into their lifestyle. I got to stay with a fantastic family, learning all about the culture and helping with everyday tasks.
Where did you stay and would you recommend it?
I stayed in a traditional nomad yurt, where we all slept in one room. The family were very welcoming and incredibly friendly. They didn’t speak any English but it was amazing communicating to them though expressions. I would highly recommend this experience.
What was your favourite restaurant?
I ate like a local and joined in on the family meals, it was all delicious! Their diet depended on their livestock, so we mainly ate milk based products with meat.
What was your funniest Mongolia holiday memory?
The toilet was hilarious, it was a hole in the ground with just an old car door to cover you. The car door window was open, so everyone could see your head as you were going to the toilet (picture to the right) it was a tad embarrassing but the views were incredible.
